The GE Q configuration is for use in the QA / QC laboratory of pharmaceutical / medical device production facilities for sterilization of, for example, glassware and culture media. Although not directly a cGMP facility, this environment demands similar specifications to production equipment in order to minimize risk of contamination of samples.

By far the most common type of sterilizer, steam sterilizers (or Autoclaves) come in many shapes and sizes. From the outside, these grey boxes all look alike, but under the stainless steel panels there is a world of difference. Each sterilizer represents a significant capital investment, and has a lifetime of at least 20 years, so it’s important to make the correct, informed choices when purchasing a new machine.
