For laboratory application, the GEV is ideally suited to rapid processing of liquids - for example, culture media. The heating and cooling is significantly faster than with a traditional steam sterilizer (e.g. GE L or GE Q), which serves to limit damage to the nutrients of the media. The GEV process both dries and cools sterilized materials, allowing them to be used immediately after the process.
