The germ carriers inoculated with spores are used for the validation of the sterilization of the sterilization cycles or the decontamination of the isolators used in aseptic procedures. Their reproducibility is essential in order to sustain the performance quality of the installations. They are supplied with a D value calculted in relation with the sterilization procedure of the isolator.

The quality of the inoculated germ carrier is dependent on the number of spores being equal or greater than 1.106 and by the verification of the resistance of the spore stock in relation to the sterilization process used.
