Robust & sanitary stainless steel construction A smooth, robotically welded, crevice free, jacketed chamber, with radiused corners and sloping base (minimum 1.5°) ensures cleanability and complete drainage of the chamber during the process. Process piping is orbitally welded where practical and slopes to drain (minimum 2%). Type 316L stainless steel used throughout the process system, with PTFE, EPDM or other FDA approved elastomers / gaskets. All process system components are non-proprietary and globally available (e.g. Gemu process valves)
Mechanical vacuum pump and efficient plate heat exchanger Air removal is critical to the steam sterilization process, particularly for air-entrained porous loads. Getinge’s GE Series sterilizers use a high efficiency water ring vacuum pump in combination with a water cooled plate heat exchanger to achieve complete air removal by progressive dilution in a series of vacuum/steam pulses. The same combination rapidly reduces chamber pressure to reach a deep post-sterilization vacuum for drying the load. This equipment arrangement, used by Getinge for many years, is effective for even the densest materials.
Sterile air filter system To prevent recontamination of the load after sterilization, air entering the chamber is sterilized by a 0.2µm sterilizing grade membrane filter. This filter is mounted in a sanitary stainless steel pressure housing. An optional maintenance cycle is provided for periodic sterilization of the filter and associated piping system whilst a further program enables integrity testing by the Water Intrusion Test (WIT) method.

| "Clean, Safe & Simple" sliding doors | The machine may be provided in single or double door, pass through configuration (sequenced for workflow and interlocked to prevent simultaneous opening). Doors on the 600 Series rise vertically to close powered by a pneumatic cylinder. Larger chambers have a horizontal sliding door powered by a pneumatic motor. All doors are automatic and fitted with appropriate safety devices. Read More |

| Stainless steel construction | The base unit frame and fascia panels are fabricated entirely from stainless steel for corrosion resistance and longevity.
Efficient insulation CFC / chloride free glass wool insulation is packed between and over the sectional jacket and is encased in rigid Aluminum sheet. Seals are placed at port penetrations to prevent particle shedding.
Cleanability / Serviceability All fascia panels of the machine may be fully opened for completely unobstructed maintenance access. When closed, the fascia panels are a flush fit, minimizing crevices where deposits may collect and facilitating cleaning.
